EZ-VISION™ - Non-Toxic DNA Staining

EZ-VISION™ is a fluorescent DNA stain that enables instant band visualization during or immediately after running your agarose gel.

EZ-VISION™ forms a tight complex with the sample DNA and co-migrates with it during electrophoresis. DNA bands can be visualized immediately after the run by placing the gel on a standard UV transilluminator. Post-run staining and destaining is completely eliminated. Sensitivity is comparable to Ethidium Bromide.
EZ-VISION™ is non-hazardous and eliminates special shipping, handling and disposal considerations. It is ideal for applications needing rapid DNA band visualization and for environments requiring a safe, non-hazardous alternative to Ethidium Bromide.

New SensoLyte™ Caspase-8 Assay Kit

Apoptosis is programmed cell death which leads to the elimination of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells without releasing harmful substances into the surrounding area. Apoptosis is involved in a variety of physiological and pathological events, 1 ranging from normal fetal development to diseases, such as cancer, 2 organ failure and neurodegenerative diseases. Caspases are proteases which play essential roles in apoptosis and inflammation. There are two types of apoptotic caspases: initiator caspases and effector caspases. Caspase-8, an initiator enzyme, also known as Mch5, MACH and FLICE, accepts signals from death receptors (FAS, TRAIL, TNF) and activates downstream effector caspases through proteolytic cleavage. 3,4 Activated effector caspases induce apoptosis through cleavage of other cellular substrates such as PARP and DFF.

The SensoLyte™ Homogeneous AFC Caspase-8 Assay Kit uses Ac-IETD-AFC as the fluorogenic indicator to measure caspase-8 activity. Upon cleavage of the substrate by caspase-8, free AFC (7-amido-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin) emits a yellow-green fluorescence, which can be quantified at excitation/emission=380nm/500nm. A bi-functional assay buffer in this kit is optimized for cell lysis and measurement of the enzyme activity. This kit can assay caspase-8 activity in cells grown in a 96-well plate or in larger plates or flasks. The kit is adaptable for high throughput screening of apoptosis inducers and inhibitors.

New enzymes for Real Time RT-PCR available: PrimeScript™

MoBiTec is pleased to introduce 3 new additions to TaKaRas PrimeScript RTase range. They all exhibit the great reverse transcription efficiency of PrimeScript RTase with our premium qPCR ExTaq Perfect Real-Time.

1. PrimeScript Reagent Kit (Perfect Real Time (RR037A/B) is a First strand cDNA synthesis mix optimized for use in qRT-PCR. It should be combined with our Perfect Real Time Premixes (RR039A or RR041A) depending on the detection. This kit is complete with all necessary reagents, particularly RNase inhibitor in contained in the enzyme mix.
   With this kit very sensitive and accurate gene expression determination can be achieved over 6 Log range (2pg-2µg Total RNA).
