CycLex^® HDAC assay kit measures the activity of HDAC by the basic principle of changing an HDAC reaction into the activity of the protease. Since it is very simple to measure common protease activity, the measurement of HDAC activity in most laboratories is possible if they are equipped with a fluorescent reader for microtiter plates. Considering that the use of fully automatic apparatus to measure fluorescence intensity has become widespread, HDAC activity measurement which could not be made by the conventional method is now possible with the CycLex^® HDAC Assay Kit using the same equipment.

Furthermore, Fluorometric and Colorimetric HDAC Activity Assays are available.

RCAS1 ELISA Kit

The RCAS1 ELISA Kit measures RCAS1 by sandwich ELISA, using monoclonal antibodies against RCAS1.

RCAS1 (receptor-binding cancer antigen expressed on SiSo cells) is a novel tumor-associated antigen expressed in human uterine and ovarian carcinomas. The amino acid sequence of RCAS1 possesses an N-terminal transmembrane region and a coiled-coil structure in the C-terminal portion, indicating that RCAS1 is a type II membrane protein and able to form oligomers. RCAS1 revealed a different expression pattern from other known tumor associated antigens such as YH206, GA733, CA125, CEA and sialyl Le molecules in human tumor cell lines. Recent studies have indicated RCAS1 acts as a ligand for a putative receptor present on various human cells including T, B, and NK cells.
RCAS1 inhibited in vitro growth of receptorexpressing cells and induced apoptosis. It is suggested that tumor cells might evade immune surveillance by expression of RCAS1. From immunohistochemical studies, it is reported that RCAS1 is expressed in uterine, ovarian, skin, hepatic and pulmonary cancer cells, which suggests that RCAS1 expression may be related to malignancy and prognosis of cancer. Recently, soluble RCAS1 was also detected by ELISA from the culture supernatant of a human cell line derived from bile duct carcinoma, increasing the potential importance of soluble RCAS1 as a tumor marker.
